Got a Question about our swim spas?
Ever wondered "What is the Difference between a 'Single Zone' and a 'Dual Zone' Swim Spa"? or "Can I finance my Swim Spa?" - Here are all the answers you need to make a well informed decision.
Got more questions? Just ask our team.
What is a swim spa?
A swim spa is a compact fitness pool with a powerful current for swimming in place, plus built-in spa seating for hydrotherapy. You get both exercise and relaxation in one, year-round setup.
Single-zone vs dual-zone—what’s the difference?
Single-zone models share one water area and temperature. Dual-zone swim spas have a separate swim area and spa area, each with its own controls and heat settings.
What swim jet systems are available?
We use Focus™ Swim Jets in three setups: Splash with 2 jets, Advanced with 3 jets, and Pro with 4 jets. Each step increases water flow and swim resistance.
Which swim jet setup is right for me?
Choose Splash for gentle swims and family fun, Advanced for regular fitness, and Pro for a powerful current ideal for strong swimmers and intensive training.
Can I adjust the current strength?
Yes—Focus™ Swim Jets have variable speed control, letting you set a gentle flow for recovery or crank it up for serious resistance.
What depths are available?
Most swim spas come in either 1.3 m for easier entry and family use, or 1.5 m for a deeper, more natural swimming stroke.
How big are swim spas?
Sizes vary by model, but most range from around 5–6 m long and 2–2.3 m wide. Always allow extra space for access and a sturdy base.
Can I run different temperatures in a dual-zone spa?
Yes—keep the swim zone cooler for exercise and the spa zone warmer for soaking, or adjust both to suit the season.
Can I use the spa jets while swimming?
Yes—hydrotherapy seats and the swim jets run off separate pumps, so you can have both running at the same time.
What temperature range can I set?
Most swim spas heat anywhere from 10°C for a cool plunge to 40°C for a hot soak—perfect for all-season use.
Can a swim spa double as a plunge pool?
Absolutely. Set a lower temperature in summer and enjoy it as a refreshing pool, then heat it back up for winter
What power does a swim spa need?
Power requirements vary—entry models may need 15–25 amps per zone, while larger Pro models can require 32–45 amps. A licensed electrician can advise for your specific spa.
How can I keep running costs down?
All Alpine Swim Spas use Alpine Insulation™ and come with a lockable Arctic cover. Adding a SpaNet® heat pump can cut heating costs by up to 75%.
How is the water kept clean?
We combine Microban® filtration with Ozone and UV-C sanitisation, reducing chemical use and keeping water clear with minimal effort.
Are they noisy to run?
Not at all. Models with WhisperQuiet™ circulation pumps keep water moving almost silently, even during filtration cycles.
What lighting options are there?
Many models feature Premium StarLight™ LED systems with multiple colours and modes for relaxation, parties, or evening swims.
How durable are Alpine Swim Spas?
They’re built with Lucite® acrylic shells, QuadPlate™ four-layer shell construction, galvanised steel framing, and premium insulation for strength and longevity.
Do they include a cover?
Yes—every swim spa comes with a fully insulated, lockable cover to retain heat and keep debris out.
What training aids come with a swim spa?
Each spa includes a swim tether to help maintain position in the current and improve stroke technique.
Can I do more than swim?
Yes—walk, jog, stretch, or do resistance exercises against the current for a full-body, low-impact workout.
How many seats do swim spas have?
Depending on the model, you’ll find anywhere from 3 to 9 hydrotherapy seats in addition to the swim area.
Is smartphone control available?
Yes—add the optional SmartLink Wi-Fi module to adjust temperature and settings from your phone or smart speaker.
What comfort features are included?
Expect Hurricane™ hydrotherapy jets, ergonomic steps, LED lighting, and in some models, dedicated foot massage jets.
How does insulation differ across the range?
Splash models feature 3-layer Alpine Insulation™, while Advanced and Pro models use 4-layer Alpine Insulation™ for maximum efficiency.
How many jets do I need?
Two jets are great for light exercise, three jets suit most swimmers, and four jets create the strongest current for advanced training.
What kind of base does it need?
A flat, strong surface—such as a reinforced concrete pad—is ideal. It must support the full weight when filled.
What warranty is included?
Most swim spas come with a 10-year structural warranty, 5 years on the acrylic shell, 5 years on the heater & jets, and 2 years on equipment.
Do larger models need separate electrical circuits?
Yes—bigger dual-zone models often require independent circuits for each zone. Your electrician will confirm the exact setup.
Do I need lots of chemicals?
No—the combination of Ozone and UV-C sanitisation reduces chemical needs to small top-ups after heavy use.
Can I view one before buying?
Yes—visit one of our showrooms to see different models, test the seating, and experience the jet systems in person.
