Besides their stunning wooden design, Saunas are a fantastic way of detoxifying the whole body through the perspiration process, helping to remove waste from the body and skin. This can improve overall health by enhancing blood circulation which can reduce joint stiffness and may relieve other conditions caused by poor circulation. Saunas are know for relieving stress and tension, as well as, rejuvenating skin cells leaving you feeling relaxed and looking youthful and refreshed.

Ergonomic Back Support
We know that sitting down can be uncomfortable – especially in sweltering heat. That’s why we’ve made it super comfortable with movable back rests that perfectly mould and comfort the arches of your back.
Traditional Sauna
Our Cabin Sauna is equipped with a powerful 6kW heater with hot rocks to evenly distribute heat to every corner of the sauna. You will love the feeling of opening the door and being welcomed by a wave of heat that immediately wraps around your body to kickstart the process.
Traditional Heater
This Scandinavian heater is perfect for medium sized sauna rooms. Its efficient heater can store up to 22kg of stones for effective heat radiation. It contains a heat reflector which helps protect the wall and distribute heat.
Why Choose Cedar Over Other Materials?
We strictly use FSC Certified Rustic Cedar for our range of traditional Saunas due to their long list of appealing properties. Not only does our Cedar look better in your backyard, it carries a range of natural resistances and benefits that make your choice of timber an easy one.
A Natural Insulator
Cedar’s insulative properties significantly outweigh those of other materials which results in a Sauna that heats up faster and more efficient in retaining heat. Spend less time cranking up your heater and more time relaxing.
Which Wood Lasts Longer?
Cedar is naturally resistant to moisture, rot, and decay, making it perfect for saunas. Unlike other timbers that absorb moisture and warp, cedar maintains its integrity. Its natural oils also have antimicrobial properties, helping prevent decay and deter pests. These qualities make cedar the ideal choice for an outdoor sauna that will withstand the elements for years.
The Cedar Experience
The natural scent of warmed wood can be an enticing feature for Sauna users. Cedar offers a distinctive and pleasant aroma which many Sauna enthusiasts appreciate, while other materials such as pine often release a resin type odor when heated. Our cedar also contributes to natural air purification due to Cedar’s inherent antimicrobial properties.

Don’t just take our word for it!
NZ’s leading athletes and sports specialists use Alpine Saunas to take their performance and recovery to the next level.
Jane Watson
Elite Netballer, Jane Watson, believes regular sauna use is a game changer when it comes to physical recovery as well as total relaxation.
“My training is frequent and can get very full-on. I really notice the difference if I have a particularly hard training day and skip my sauna session afterward, I’m definitely more fatigued the next day, says Watson.
Dave Wood
Dave Wood is a movement and breathing specialist who works with elite Kiwi athletes to enhance their recovery, endurance, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Through his training of top athletes, he’s found regular sauna use to improve cardiovascular health, improve brain function, and provide mental resilience as well as stress management.
Wood says after you begin sweating in the sauna, your cardiovascular system engages, and the heart rate rises to facilitate expanded blood vessels. “At this stage of your sauna session, the body begins to harvest all of the benefits of actual exercise except you are passively sitting in relaxation,” says Wood.
Give it a glow
Health benefits that make it worth your time.
Relaxation & Sleep
The most immediate relief the sauna offers is simple relaxation as it melts away the stresses and tensions of everyday life. You’ll feel rejuvenated and renewed, restored in both body and mind.
Glowing Complexion
The sweating achieved after a few minutes in a sauna carries off deeply imbedded impurities and dead skin cells, leaving the skin glowing and immaculately clean. It stimulates the sweat glands, releasing built-up toxins and waste.
Muscle Recovery
Increased blood circulation carries off metabolic waste products and delivers oxygen-rich blood to oxygen-depleted muscles so they recover faster.
Eases Joint Pain and Stiffness
Radiant heat therapy is used to treat patients suffering from many forms of arthritis. In addition, it has been proven effective in the treatment of sprains, neuralgia, bursitis, muscle spasms, joint stiffness and many other muscular-skeletal ailments.

Frequently asked questions
ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CABIN SAUNA
Traditional saunas use a stove to heat the air. As the temperature of the air increases around you, the temperature of your body increases as well due to absorption by heat convection. This causes your body to start the cooling process by transporting blood closer to the surface of the skin and opening pores through sweating.
Infrared saunas also heat the surrounding air but to a lesser degree. Instead, infrared saunas use infrared heaters to emit a specific wavelength of infrared light. Your skin absorbs this wavelength, causing your body’s temperature to rise. This elicits the same effects as a traditional sauna with less overall heat needed.
Yes, we provide comprehensive manuals alongside several videos to explain how to assemble the Sauna in a step-by-step basis. However, we do advise organising the help of a builder or expert handyman, as this Sauna assembly can be a big job for casual DIYers.
One of the main differences between a traditional sauna and an infrared sauna is the heat involved while inside the unit.
Traditional dry saunas average temperature is 60 to 80 degrees Celsius, with some models reaching as high as 90 degrees Celsius.
Infrared saunas use a much milder temperature environment of between 45 to 65 degrees Celsius. However, because the heat of infrared saunas travels much deeper into the body, they can cause a more vigorous sweat at lower temperature.
Another difference between a traditional sauna and an infrared sauna is the amount of power required to operate each unit.
Traditional saunas require more overall power to run. Our traditional saunas have either a 6kw heater (Barrel) or a 9kw heater (Hut). Our infrared saunas have either a 1.5kw heater (Oslo) or a 2.4kw heater (Copenhagen).
This means that a traditional sauna is more expensive to run than an infrared sauna. This can make a difference, depending on how often you use the unit.
